Issue #32302: Fish Hatchery respawn issues (Aquarium involved)
Well hello again,
I am not 100% sure that what I witnessed is really a bug but I wanted to call your attention to it. The Fish Hatchery in Windstad Manor acts oddly. I put in ALL fish in two batches. The following happened: 1. Fish from the first batch spawned 3 per Variant, BUT those from the second batch PARTLY only spawned 2. (Cod and Catfish in this case, if relevant. Cod and Catfish where NOT handled like belows description for Vampire Fish, Angler and Direfish; there where only two to begin with). Interestingly Brook Bass (first batch) spawned 4! 2. I took out SOME of the fish, e.g. I had 3 Vampire fish, took out one, then later another one, but only one respawned, leaving me with only two in the hatchery. This SEEMS to be related to the AQUARIUMS. One Vampire Fish I gave away (quest related), the other, which I took out several days AFTER the first one (when there were again THREE of them) I put in an Aquarium later. And bam!, only 2. Nothing I could change. The same issue (Aquarium) happened with the Angler and the Direfish. It did NOT happen with the Lyretail Anthias or the Angelfish. All issues seem ONLY to be with LARGE Fish. 3. I then tried to take out EVERY fish in the hatchery, to see if and how many respawn. All LARGE fish, which had only two as per above description, respawned only two again. (Also Cod and Catfish respawned only two, while Brook Bass spawned 4 again). And, sadly, the Tripod Spider Fish, which was not involved in any taking, quests or Aquarium, did NOT respawn at all. Lyretail and Angel respawned 3, so as expected. 4. trying to put them Fishes back in (from Aquariums or just another specimen) does do nothing. I am not sure, what the/and IF there even IS an issue. But this Hatchery/Aquarium behaviour seems odd. I will check for developements the next days (e.g. if the Tripods do return or not), if anything happens making above statement obsolete, I will report (or delete this report). I'd appreciate you to look into this matter. PS: no mods, only the ussep. Not sure if you need any saves for smthg like this, maybe let me know. |
PS: Scorpion Fish behave the same it seems, and, against the description above, Spadefish also. Issue seems to be full Aquarium caused.
Yipee, and it got even worse. I tried a new character, made all Swims-in-deep-water Quests, left the Aquariums totally alone, aaaand: NO non-vanilla Fish did spawn AT all.
and another update: it seems, that, MAYBE, since one of the last official updates the Hatchery does not work with non-vanilla fish at all anymore. I tried it this time BEFORE starting the relevant quest, also INBETWEEN the relevant quest. No change. Non-Vanilla fish are accepted/recognized in the hatchery but do not spawn at all. Zero.

additional observation: I did 4 trials now. The Aquarium - Issue extends to the Riften Fishery. Fish not caught with a rod and then directly given to 'Swims' will not show up in his Aquariums. Bred Fish, Fish from the Hatchery or Fish already having been in any Aquarium TEND to not end up in his Aquariums. I hope this get's fixed someday...
Ok, after testing like mad I have to admit I did not find ANY lead on what's going on here. Sometimes the fish spawn, sometimes they don't. Player levels, status of the different fishing quests, Vampire or not, fishing or grabbing out of water, etc.pp.
Vanilla Fish usually spawn, even if it takes insane amounts of time/in-game-days sometimes, non-vanillas usually don't spawn at all; if they do they do so pretty fast and together with vanilla. Buuut, as said, they usually don't. Immersion killing = game killing.
