Issue #35234: Completion of Mages Guild Quest "Liberation or Apprehension?" Fails To Reward Warlock Rank

This results in the player always being one rank behind, getting promoted to Warlock instead of Wizard for completing "A Plot Revealed." Not sure what makes this happen only sometimes, though.

Reporting this based on Oblivion Remastered gameplay prior to the Unofficial Oblivion Remastered Patch's release, but I don't see anything about it being fixed in the changelog for the Unofficial Oblivion Patch or Unofficial Oblivion Remastered Patch.

The setup for this is weird. Completing the quest sets a variable on MGPostQuestScript. While that variable is set to 1, the "Advancement" topic becomes active when speaking to Raminus Polus. At that point, you'd get promoted.

I don't see any changes being made by the remaster that deal with the variable being set at the expected times in any of these quests.

All of the responses under the "Advancement" topic have the correct condition checks on them as well.

If it's not issuing the rewards correctly then it's likely there's some kind of engine response delay when the variable to allow advancement is set.

I don't think Remastered changes it and that it's always been possible to happen. Based on precisely what, I don't know.
