Resolution: Can't Fix - Engine Issue

Issue #35267: Consistent crash with Paralysis

Shooting an enemy with 75-100 in Marksman often crashes the game. Though I'm sure it happens with Paralysis in general. I think it's something to do with the ragdoll of models when they are Paralyzed. This is especially awful when fighting Daedroth and Ogres. So much so, I have to stop attacking them until the Paralysis ends, for fear of the game crashing.

I also just had a crash after myself being paralyzed during the big Bruma battle. Been paralyzed other times without crashing, though.

I read a suggestion that the issue occurs when a target receives MULTIPLE instances of Paralysis.

It might happen more often with multiple instances of paralysis, but I've definitely had it happen without multiple instances. As a marksman build, paralysis is the cause of 90% of my crashes, and this is even with me trying my best to not shoot anything already paralyzed.

This bug has been acknowledged by Bethesda, but they have not yet stated that a fix is on the way.

If you are experiencing crashes when attacking enemies with a Paralyzed Effect Bow and your Marksman skill is over 75, attempting to use a different weapon, spell, or waiting for effect to wear off should prevent a further crash from occurring.

This is an engine bug. We will not be able to address this. Bethesda needs to deal with it.
