Issue #36269: The unofficial patch removes environment maps from worldspaces, which breaks the rain/wetness shader

Exactly what the description says. The unofficial patch is removing the XWEM subrecord from worldspaces. This is likely an artifact of recent changes to FO4Edit, as it seems that the xEdit team missed the fact that Bethesda added additional uses for this subrecord in Fallout 4 that didn't exist in other games.

In Fallout 4, the XWEM (Water Environment Map) subrecord is used by the wetness shader to apply an environment map to objects that do not already have an environment map in their material settings. See the attached screenshots for comparisons.

Where are you finding that XWEM subrecords have been removed? I'm looking at worldspaces right now and Fallout4.esm (and the DLC masters) do not have this information defined, so UFO4P is not removing anything as far as I can see.

Unless you're saying that xEdit is not showing the information somehow even though the subrecord is visible in the UI. They don't even have it defined as unused or anything.

Correct. Current beta builds of xedit do not show the data for XWEM subrecords on worldspaces that are not small worlds and will remove the data in that subrecord from those worldspaces when saving. This was a change made based on other games, without the knowledge that the wetness shader in Fallout 4 is set to use the same subrecord for an entirely different purpose.

Edit: I have attached a screenshot taken in FO4Edit 4.0.4, which still shows the data properly.

I talked to Robert about it and it's going to be fixed in 4.1.5q - whenever that comes out. In the meantime he's compiled a version for me that can see the missing data.

If you hadn't pointed this out I'd never have even known something was off in game. :P
