Issue #11914: MQ102A Alvor's house
This scene is seen by so many, I'm appalled at the QA -- and surprised it's not fixed yet.
Randomly 1/3 (or maybe 1/2) the time, Hadvar beats Alvor to his chair -- Alvor flickers repeatedly trying to sit. Until he sits, the scene won't run. You have to re-load and try again. There were about 6 comments in the old <span class="desc">issue #11906. Eventually, figured out the problem is Alvor's MQ102RiverwoodSceneAlvorHoldPosition chair target has radius 0, but Hadvar target to his assigned chair at the other end of the table is radius 500. So, Alvor's chair is closest meeting requirements and depending on where they appear on the other side of the door, Hadvar wins! Turns out that there's another several Hadvar targets that have a radius 250, so he basically stands in the doorway instead of hitting his XMarkers, as the doorway is well within 250 of them all. He's supposed to go to his XMarker in front of Dorthe's Xmarker, then warm his hands at the fire (his marker is owned), then sit in his assigned chair. Alvor in the middle chair across the table works better visually, and he always gets to this chair (it's closer to his scene's 1st Xmarker). Moreover, in his original assigned chair Alvor dumps his food on the floor. I tried Alvor in another chair across the room, but that original plate slowly spins and dumps the food with nobody near it! Also, the plate and its chair are to the right of the fork and knife placement. Moving the plate and its chair to the proper position fixes the food dumping (added 2 triangle square of navmesh). All 3 chairs are 2 Z higher than the table, leaving a small gap under the legs, and their orange placemats causing the things on the table to vibrate. Finally, there's a crash as you enter the room. All 3 knives are embedded in the table and fall through it to the floor. [original had object numbers, fix available to upload or at http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/31042] |
Though I've never had trouble with the scene inside the house playing out, this plays out much better. Someone really needs to knee their QA team in the groin!
