Issue #12948: Companions radiant quest bind
This is hard to replicate, and probably rare. When I finish the 'Purity of Revenge' quest and head back to Whiterun via it's marker, when I arrive at Jorrvaskr which is what the journal told me to do, nothing happened. I spoke to Aela who offered me a radiant quest, in this case 'Striking the Heart'. Eventually Vilkas caught up with me and 'Purity of Revenge' completed and the funeral began. In the next step in 'Glory of the Dead', on the way there I decided to complete the 'Striking the Heart' quest, killing the leader it updated and said return to Aela.
The problem i realize is that i was never supposed to get this radiant quest available, for whatever reason when Vilkas took his time to come with me in finishing the before quest, it allowed me to get this other quest before they were unavailable due to the 'Glory of the Dead' quest starting. Because the Silver Hand are over and done with i think I've confused the game with this quest. Post quest when i talk to Aela the option to complete it isn't there, only an option to do a regular companion's radiant quest that doesn't involve the silver hand. The MOST annoying thing however is i cannot even update the quest via console. setstage CR09 100 or 200 is the command to complete the quest but nothing happens, the other quests afterwards act as normal, but this seems to look like it will forever be stuck in my journal. If i realized it earlier i would have reverted to an earlier save, but argh oh well, just bringing it to your attention. |
