Issue #14901: wrcastlebridge01 Specular enabled bug
Found a small vanilla bug in the whiiterun Dragonsreach bridge.
"meshes/architecture/whiterun/wrbuildings/wrcastlebridge01.nif" Branch "WRCastleBridge01:1" has the "Specular" enabled, causing it to appear black. (Using custom textures which have identical channels to vanilla textures) |
Related Issues: 29305
Previously included in the USKP on Issue #11946 for various errors.
Specular flag on this mesh is fine - in vanilla nothing turns black so we will not be removing that.
However a UV error was found which needs to be fixed.

Not a fix for the reported issue, per se, as I cannot find any specular issues, nor any specular enabled on trishape 01:1.
This fixes a very small UV texture issue.
If the original reporter wants to, they can re-report with pictures and with tests using the USKP fixed mesh.

Fixed for USKP 2.0.4.
UV issues only. I was also unable to find any specular problems.

The bug re-occured when I removed my 'fixed' mesh and used USKP mesh, even if USKP mesh does not have specular enabled.
However now it is caused by the "BSLightingShaderProperty" of what is now (USKP mesh) "WRCastleBridge01:25" having "SLSF2_vertex_Colors" enabled but the mesh "NiTriShapeData" property "Has Vertex Colors" is set to "no", causing it to read all vertex colors as black and appearing pitch black. I'm guessing it happened becuase USKP removed part of the mesh to fix the top part of the roof.
Funy enough vanilla has the specular bug (for me) but not vertex color bug, while USKP has vertex color bug but not specular bug xD

Going to need pics of this, cause there's no sign of any pitch black parts on this mesh in-game or in the CK after it's been fixed.
Here's a pic of the issue. This is with USKP mesh.

Please note it's not shadowing. Using various ligh sources and using 'tfc' commnad to check, it's just pitch black in-game for me. Looks fine in Nifscope tho...
