Issue #195: Solitude LOD mesh problem
In Solitude, there's this house (ID seems to be 00033c34), when viewed from a distance, that has a crap mesh (seems incomplete / see through). See picture below (just a bit above and on the right of the crosshair).

Looking at the duplicate issue (issue 12809, I can confirm that there are 2 problems :
1 - the 9 divines temple : its LOD meshes are lacking the 'half-tower' (from inside the temple this is the part where all shrines are).
--> LOD\Solitude\SNineDivine_LOD.nif and LOD\Solitude\SNineDivine_LOD_2.nif. This is too sophisticated for my actual 3D modeling knowledge. I cannot work on this at this time.
<strike>2 - the giant rock under the temple : its 1st LOD mesh (LOD\Mountains\Unique\solituderockarch02_lod_0.nif) is undisplayed ingame because it is affected by the wrapping texture bug (see my tutorial for explanation). Plus, this mesh uses wrong textures : textures\landscape\mountains\MountainSlab02.dds and its _n 'sister' that are 1024x1024 instead of textures\lod\SolitudeArch02LOD.dds and its _n 'sister' that are 256x256. The entire UV map also needs to be redone to fit in the texture. I'm currently working on this.</strike>
<strike>EDIT : WTF ! All _0 LOD meshes from meshes\lod\mountains and meshes\lod\mountains\unique folders are affected by this ! That would explain why many huge mountain parts 'pop' when approaching.</strike>
EDIT : I wrote wrong things. The .bto files generated for this area (tamriel.4.-16.24.bto, tamriel.8.-16.24.bto and tamriel.16.-16.16.bto) are perfectly 'as intended', provided the base LOD meshes available for this huge rock/mountain object. And that is the real issue : LOD meshes for this rock/mountain do not fit the full-poly one.

So, the actual issue lies in improper shape from solituderockarch02_lod_0/1/2.nif meshes. A huge haul of work, I can't guarantee I'll be able to do anything...

Ok, here's a partial fix. This archive contains both a new mesh for solituderockarch02_lod_0.nif and the fitting .bto file for this area of the game. It's basically a simple copy/paste from meshes\landscape\unique\solituderockarch02.nif with all geometry merged into a single block and using the generic 'mountains LOD texture'. The rendering ingame is excellent (no more gaps) but rather performance-unfriendly (imo) because it's now a heavy-poly stuff (but some other LOD meshes already in the game have nearly the same amount of vertices : look at meshes\lod\mountains\unique\markarthcliff04_lod_0.nif for example). Proof that this mesh was the culprit is demonstrated. I'm afraid I won't be able to do much more for the rock issue.
Anyway, the 9 divines temple still lacks its back tower...
