Issue #20487: Razorgrain and corn floats above the ground when placed
Razorgrain floats above ground when placed due to the mesh not being leveled properly along the ground plane.
Vigge42 has given permission to use his fix: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/13823/ |

To quote my post on his mod page:
----
I noticed in Gopher's video that the razorgrain no longer blows in the wind. I checked your NIF files and it appears you've removed vertex colors from the meshes. Vertex alphas for grass are used for vertex animation.
A vertex alpha of 0.0 means that the vertex is firmly rooted, i.e. it cannot blow in the wind.
A vertex alpha of 1.0 means that the vertex moves the full amount of the vertex animation, i.e. blows fully in the wind.
I'm the developer of NifSkope, and if you'd like I can fairly easily script a Spell for you which restores the vertex alphas based on their Z heights, if you don't want to bother with taking the files in and out of Max again.
----
tl;dr: The mod fixes one visual issue but causes another (no longer blows in wind). I'll come up with a fix sometime.

Ugh, well, ok. I'll walk this back to confirmed then. I don't think we should exchange one bug for another
Simply applying a -15.0 z-translation to all BSTriShape nodes does the job. No glitches seen in the game while testing.
Included corn in this ticket's header since corn plants have the same problem.
After playing around with the z offsets, an offset of -8 is best for the razorgrains while an offset of -5 is best for the corns.
EDIT: Also note that the meshes ARE leveled properly. The sole reason for this behaviour is the inaccuracy of the landscape meshes' collision.
