Issue #24544: CTD when inspecting some armor items
Looting the mob, hovering over the item, picking it up, even equipping it causes no issues, but inspecting causes a CTD.
The item in question : https://i.imgur.com/y1Nx7R7.jpg (inspected with the patch disabled) I have no mods installed which even come close to modifying armor, and disabling the unofficial patch mod fixes the issue. For good measure I tried with only the unofficial patch (and no other mod), it still crashes. I have had it happen on an older save but assumed it was because I disabled some mods and that the save was corrupted. I went back to it and sure enough, the unofficial patch causes a CTD when inspecting the item : https://i.imgur.com/1wYPaKg.jpg (also inspected without the patch) |

I just noticed that another such report was made but was dismissed and closed.
Issue #24467
We have the exact same problem. The reason the other issue's poster can't loot is because when you loot a legendary, it auto-inspects. I think the problem lies with inspecting.
Edit : please note that the other poster and I share only the unofficial patch in our mods. I compared his mod list on his reddit post to my own.

Just happened again. Chameleon Synth Left Arm, legendary, when I tried to loot it (it auto inspects and crashes). Issue is exactly the same as #24467.
It hasn't happened yet for anything else than an armor item though, and I can't seem to determine why certain armor items crash and others do not.
Edit : the beta version (2.0.4) does not fix.

Checked with the third post on this issue (24545) - still no mods in common, at least for the ones displayed in the load order list.
Here's mine - game version is 1.9.4.0.0
I have additional mods not listed there for some reason :
Full Dialogue Interface
No more cash register sound
Emogene Takes a Lover Fix

I was able to pick up a legendary item that used to cause a crash by making a quick mod to stop it from auto-inspecting on pickup.
That, however, won't even work for a patchwork solution since the game also crashes when using an armor workbench with the item in the inventory.

You're using game version 1.9.4.0.0 ?
You know that the game is several versions ahead already (currently 1.10.89), do you ?
And that some of the official updates since 1.9.4 added content to the base game that required updates to the patch ?
Such as armor and weapon keywords: any UFO4P overrides to armor and weapon records have been updated to include the new keywords (if there were any). And if you're using this along with an outdated game version, those records will reference non-existing keywords in the base game.
UFO4P 2.0.3 requires 1.10.64 or greater. This is explicitely stated on all download pages.

Since you are using an unsupported version of the game, this issue is invalid. We only provide support for the most recent game update from Bethesda.
