Issue #25207: Can't "Talk" to companion
I ran into a bug this morning where when I clicked on my current companion, Dogmeat, the "Talk/Trade/Cancel/Stay" menu appeared, but the "Talk" option didn't work. My character spoke the standard line of dialogue ("Hey boy, how you doing?" but the next menu failed to open. "Trade" and "Cancel" still worked; I didn't think to try "Stay". Exiting and reloading the exitsave failed to correct the problem.
Googling the issue, I found a claim that the problem is caused by walking away from a quest-relevant conversation, and that you can fix it by tracking down whomever you were conversing with and finishing the conversation. I can't confirm or deny that; I just reloaded an earlier save, from before the glitch hit. |
