Resolution: Can't Fix - Engine Issue

Issue #25245: Nuka-World junkyard - protectron enemy spawns below map

In Nuka-World junkyard, there is one protectron enemy that spawns below the map (in the highly-radiated mound in the water south of the barn), which makes it impossible to destroy, unless you fast travel away then fast travel back.

In normal circumstances, I would have put the severity of this to very low instead of low. However there seems to be an additional bug regarding the enemies in the Nuka-World junkyard. It seems that the enemies aren't supposed to respawn after you clear the junkyard, and that happens most of the time. However I noticed that if you leave one enemy there alive for a while, then come back all the enemies there will respawn repeatedly and indefinitely instead.

I do not believe this issue is tied to the quest "Trip to the Stars" where you need to clear the junkyard for the Hubologists to move in there, but am not100% sure.

As you can see in the screenshot (linked above), the spawn marker isn't placed below the surface of the ground. If anything it's floating slightly which wouldn't result in the protectron spawning below the ground.

I see, thanks for looking into it. Though whenever you go to the Nuka-World junkyard, do you notice the protectron is never there until your 2nd visit?

I can confirm this issue. Attached save you can hear the protectron dialog. if you go tcl you can see it under the highly-radiated mound in the water south of the barn

Attached a clean save that should work on the test system. if you tcl then go down and look up it appears that he is positioned in front and below the junk pile. So my thinking is that he is spawning at he location shown in the CK but for some reason below the surface. And once alerted such that he starts patrolling around he eventually pop's out of the terrain.

The problem isn't that we can't reproduce the issue, it's that we can't determine why the protectron spawns below the surface when there's nothing wrong with the placement of its spawn marker. The only potential solution I can think of here would be to move the spawn marker away from the current location. There's a possibility that it being placed in that hole is causing it to spawn underneath the surface for some reason.

Did a search on this ref and came to this thread because of this issue. This is still, indeed a problem every time I go to the Junkyard. I have a batch file that moves him to me to remediate it.

Unfortunately as has been indicated twice before, the position of the spawn marker is correct. There isn't anything we can do here to correct this if the game insists on sticking it underground.
