Issue #26414: (previouslyfixed) spell absorb / summ. conjuration bug appears again, since 1.5.73 and USSEP 4.1.7

https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/4978860-unofficial-skyrim-special-edition-patch/page-667#entry68699706 ############# Copy/Paste: I encountered a bug in combination with spell absorb and conjuration spells and/or staves since the last update. I'm currently trying to track down the error. I made a (nearly) minimal test setup: Skyrim =>Current SSE verion 1.5.73 Tundra Homestead and Myrwatch (couldn't deactivate that easily) SKSE 2.0.15 Newest USSEP SkyUI Alternate Start - LAL (able to test quickly) 1. Start a new game 2. Choose Breton 3. Use console to add a Staff of the Familiar ID player.additem 00029b75 1 4. Activate Dragon Skin 5. Use the staff Half of the time spell absorb triggers and the conjuration will fail. You can repeat the process without USSEP, it will fail too. ##### I hadn't had this problem before 1.5.73. I will further test my setup (verify game files, test without SKSE) but i guess that will not change anything). Vanilla skyrim had the absorb / conjuration issues and USSEP fixed that. However I read the changelog notes and some conjuration entries (atronarchs) had been changed. Maybe there was some sort of copy/paste and/or undocumented revert? #### Edit1: Second test with Skyrim =>Current SSE verion 1.5.73 Tundra Homestead and Myrwatch (couldn't deactivate that easily) Alternate Start - LAL (able to test quickly) a) With newest USSEP b) without USSEP Result: a) As stated above, problem with using Breton dragon skin + staff BUT NOT dragon skin + conjure familiar starting spell b) Without USSEP problem with both the spell and the staff #### Edit2: I verified my game files and used a) the default game files + setup above and b) xEdit cleaned addon files Results were the same. So I'm more or less sure there is a bug (maybe the same and known bug) in the Skyrim.esm that could be fixed by USSEP or was fixed before 4.1.7 and maybe got accidentally reverted. |
I'm getting the same result using the above method (No Tundra Homestead or Myrwatch).

This has never been possible to fix in mods, has never been fixed by Bethesda, and could not have been something that has been lost in USSEP updates or official patches.
The 2 attached images will show why this is the case. The first is an Enchantment record which is what staffs use. The second is a Spell record. Notice that on the Enchantment there are no available boxes to select to disallow the spell absorption. Without those checkboxes, none of the Enchantments can ever prevent this problem from happening.
It's out of our control. Nothing can be done.
