Issue #26558: RoboticsDisposalGroundLocation: Surrounding cells in area aren't included as part of location

At Robotics Disposal Grounds (RoboticsDisposalGroundLocation) the developers only set one cell, RoboticsDisposalExt, as part of actual location. It seems odd that several of the surrounding cells (0000DCF6, 0000DD17) aren't also part of it, especially the building with the terminal and workbench in it. Also, the map marker isn't even included.

RoboticsDisposalGroundZone is also flagged to never reset, but the majority of the items in the area do reset, including the mini-nuke outside near the fence and most everything inside the building (minus the perk magazine). The sentry bot and the military chest don't appear to ever respawn, but that's probably because they're within the RoboticsDisposalExt cell.

There's also a quest (DN116) at the location having to do with the sentry bot and mole rats. It appears to be connected to the terminal inside the building because it controls the sentry bot.

Any cells that are included in a location will share its encounter zone settings. The most common reason for keeping locations limited to a small number of cells is that one doesn't want a limit to apply to the randomly placed loot or enemies in the surroundings.

Thus, not a bug in my opinion.

Yeah, I see what you mean now. I've found a better way to address this without expanding the location to include three additional cells. Just add "RoboticsDisposalGroundZone" to the encounter zone settings on the few references that respawn as a result of being on or slightly outside the bounds of the existing location.

Anyway, I think it's probably best to close this ticket as result. The other method I'm talking about is being handled in Issue #28200.
