Issue #26734: Stash's second interaction: conversation does not trigger

 
Upon meeting Stash a second time and finishing the first encounter amicably, she only says things like: "Yeah" and "Huh".
Her guards repeat their old dialogue from the first encounter.
I cannot progress her story as a result.

(Also, apologies if I did something wrong, first time reporting a bug)

I've had this happen as well in my game with Stash only having random greetings and not offering the expected dialogue (which I think maybe includes the option to barter). Not sure exactly how this all supposed to work, but her and her guards eventually ended up dead later on in my game. I was reading on one of the wikis (which I know don't always have reliable information) that their death is scripted by the game at some point in time.

Chances are we're going to need a save to fix the issue, so if you can provide one that would be a big help since it appears as though you're playing on the PC. If not, I may able to find one of my old saves with the issue before her and her guards died, but I don't think I have one set aside specifically for this issue because I didn't think too much of it at the time.

The only work around I have found for this is to talk to her 2 lackeys. Do all 4 dialog options for each one, then I can usually get her normal dialog. I have also had this behavior on first meeting her as well.

And just for the sake of completeness. part 3 of this encounter series is broken too (who would have guessed ?).

Are you all perfectly sure that it is STASH you're talking about and not DRETH ?

They both have two mercenaries with them, and both can be met several times (actually, even an infinite number of times). The first and second encountrers of both Stash and Dreth are different; Stash's is completely different, while Dreth only skips the intro upon meeting her.for the second time. Stash is a chems dealer while Dreth is a weapons dealer.

The bug is well known from Dreth, but not from Stash.

All right, so this report is all kinds of fun. The issue here is simple: the "second" encounter being reported here is actually a repeat of the first encounter, REChokepointCT02. This encounter has a forcegreet by Stash that sets stage 50 and unlocks her normal dialogue. The forcegreet is flagged "say once", which means Stash will never say the forcegreet again. This encounter is repeatable so long as neither stash nor the guards are dead or otherwise unable to be resolved into aliases. Upon subsequent encounters with Stash, she will never forcegreet the player due to the forcegreet being consumed. Her subsequent dialogue can also be unlocked by speaking with the guards, which I verified in the provided save. To fix the forcegreet, all that is needed is to remove the "say once" flag and the encounter will play out as designed.

I've attached a plugin that does precisely that. As a side note, while I don't make the change in the attached plugin, it may be worth copying the condition check for bREChokepointCT02PCHitOrStole out of RETravelCT06 and into REChokepointCT02. That flag gets set by both quests, and is theoretically intended to prevent future meetings with Stash. RETravelCT06 and RECampCT07a both utilize the flag appropriately.
