Issue #28524: Mannequin Refuses to Wear Armor
So this mannequin (it's the one in the main hall of Windstad Manor if that matters) was working just fine displaying the equipped armor as expected. Until it wasn't.
On one of many instances of entering the house again, the mannequin appeared to no longer be wearing the gear it had. (It was the head, hands, feet, and body of the light Divine Crusader set if that matters). Interacting with the mannequin showed it still had the gear but was not wearing it. I was able to take the gear away from the mannequin, but it now refuses to even accept the gear again. It just instantly reappears in my inventory. |
Also, may be coincidence, but this seemed to happen right after I added a second mannequin to the estate (the one in the cellar).
Further, the cellar mannequin wears them just fine. For now at least.
And simply taking the armor from that cellar mannequin has now duplicated three of the set's four pieces.
I've noticed that equipping a shield is bugged as well - upon exiting end re-entering the shield will stutter slightly like the attachment point (or something) is off a bit - it seems to blur due to it stuttering. Removing and re-equipping it on the maninequin fixes it (and the manniquin seems to move slightly - like it was misaligned a tiny bit). Leaving breaks it again. See attached pictures.

Mannequins getting duplicated gear is a clear indication you have another mod that's overridden the fixes the patch made to the scripts that specifically prevent any duplication from occurring. Rejecting gear because it thinks it still has it being worn also indicates the same, either because some mod accidentally included the vanilla scripts or because it's a broken mod with bad scripts.
Mannequins shifting off of their pedestals indicates navmesh conflicts in the HF housing, which should not be the case without any additional mods. It's another issue we specifically addressed.
