Issue #29040: Incorrect sound used for MAGIllusionNightEyeOffSD (FormID: 0007C721)

The MAGIllusionNightEyeOffSD (FormID: 0007C721) uses the sound from [Data\sound\FX\MAG\Illusion\MAG_Illusion_Nighteye_On.Wav] which I always found odd.

Before the creation kit came out I used SSEEdit (to test my own Night Eye mod for compatibility with SSE) and manually changed it to [Data\sound\FX\MAG\Illusion\MAG_Illusion_Nighteye_Off.Wav] as an experiment to see if an night eye deactivation sound actually existed. It does. I have this fix built into one of my own mods on Nexus and it works perfectly.

This results in the correct deactivation sound being used for Night Eye/Vampire's Sight that for the most part has never been heard before (unless you use a mod that added it back like mine  ).

Keep up the great work.

SonicRay

Hi,

I've created a standalone fix for this that you can download to quickly check the issue and the fix (and also for other people who want the fix but don't want my mod  ).

I've uploaded the fix under Miscellaneous files on one of my mods on Nexus (I know it looks like I'm plugging one of my own mods but I read that you guys prefer files from a trusted source so it was the easiest way for me to provide it to you ):

Realistic Night Eye and Vampire's Sight

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/1678?tab=files

The file is called 'Night Vision Deactivation Sound Fix'.

Hi,

I forgot to mention that I updated my mod and consolidated all the plugins into an installer. The mod link above is still correct however, just download that mod and during installation:

Click on Customise Your Installation on the bottom left and select these options on the next screen.

Step 1 = Fixes Only

Step 2 = (It doesn't matter which you choose).

Step 3 = Select 'Night Vision Deactivation Sound Fix'

Click 'Finish' and you should now have only the sound fix I mentioned above installed and ready for you to check it.

Again I'm doing it this way to give you the file from a trusted source and not to plug my own mod :).
