Issue #29046: Night Eye/Vampire's Sight flicker when activating

 
The 'NightEyeImodIntro' (Form ID: 0006B10A) causes a flicker just at the end of the transition (this was apparently not a problem before Bethesda altered it in an update and caused the issue). I've narrowed it down to the duration of the effect. If the duration of the effect is set to 1.5 instead of 1 and the ramp up/down of the individual effects (Saturation Mult, Eye Adapt Speed Mult) is set to the base settings of 'NightEyeImod' (Form ID: 0006B108) (the base night vision effect) at 1 (basically the ramp up/down will soft stop at 1 but the duration will continue to 1.5) the flicker will no longer occur.

I tested this at multiple frame rates (from 20 to 144 variable and locked at 60) and the fix seems to work perfectly :) :smile: .

Hi,

I've created a standalone fix for this that you can download to quickly check the issue and the fix (and also for other people who want the fix but don't want my mod :smile: ). I've also provided it for as I know my description would be hard to understand without looking at it in the Creation Kit itself.

I've uploaded the fix under Miscellaneous files on one of my mods on Nexus (I know it looks like I'm plugging one of my own mods but I read that you guys prefer files from a trusted source so it was the easiest way for me :smile:):

Thanks. Looking at this stuff in the CK definitely made little sense so kudos on figuring it out. I hadn't really even noticed the flicker until I was actively looking for it. Cannot unsee :P
