Issue #31471: Bottlecap Stash - Pickman Gallery - Havoc

Bottlecap Stash 8A58A in Pickman Gallery, top floor next to bed needs Havoc disabled. Missile Launcher trap that dog usually sets off shoots directly towards the room and a lot of the time it blows under the bed and is inaccessible. There is a Nuke Quantum with the same issue in the same area but I don't currently have that ref or I'd create another ticket.

A word of note, started a new play through with the newest patch, and man, you guys really nailed it with this one. So many things fixed that I had on my radar. Kudos to an awesome job as always. You guys are amazing.

It should be noted that adding the "Don't Havok Settle" flag would have no effect on whether the bottlecap stash is moved by an explosion. Adding that flag doesn't prevent an object from being moved when bumped, and in FO4 it pretty much does nothing at all since objects already don't move unless touched by the player or some other form of havok forces them to move (like an explosion) without the flag. In previous titles, like Skyrim, the flag was somewhat useful in that it would keep an object from immediately falling to the ground if it was deliberately placed above a surface or in the air. The developers did something to break the function of that flag in FO4, which is obviously quite annoying because objects that are placed even the slightest bit above the surface are going to appear that way until something forces them to drop to the surface or whatever and that makes a lot more work for us in terms of placement fixes.

One possible way to fix this is to move it somewhere else away from the bed so that it's a lot less likely to get blown where it can't be picked up. Another possibility is adding a DefaultDisableHavokOnLoad script.

Sure thing. I just figured I'd report it because it was acting like the Islander' Almanacs I reported a while back that I think I read you guys fixed in the newest patch. I was thinking there was some sort of physics property to allow for static placement, but also allow for pick up by the player.

I don't think it's entirely appropriate to flag this so it won't move, but moving it to the other side of the bed should do the trick.
