Misc Gear E1FF9 recipe should logically render component 1FAB0 Gear (1) instead of 1FABD Steel (1).

I'm not so sure about the logic here - 1FAB0 Gear (component) is a small gear, like you'd find in a pocket watch, fishing rod, or desk fan. E1FF9 Gear (misc item) is a large gear from a car engine (as indicated by its editor id AutoPart04), bigger than an entire pocketwatch as you can see in the attached screenshot.

I'll admit having two distinct and incompatible items just called "gear" is confusing, and changing them to "small gear" and "large gear" or something might help, but I'm guessing that would be out of scope for UFO4P.

Well, when used in things like Armor Workbench or manufacturing equipment, they certainly aren't the size of a watch gear. The Armor Workbench actually has a gear the same size on the side of it. I changed it over to gear in my own personal patch file so it would have a little continuity, much like the aluminum tray rendering steel that UFO4P fixes, but no big deal either way.

It appears you're asking us to change the AutoPart04 object to give gears when scrapped. That would not be appropriate since you don't break down a larger gear into smaller ones. Getting steel back from this object is the proper result.

This is not a big deal at all, as we're only talking junk here. You guys have changed other recipes in the past to make sense so I figured I'd mention it as I have it done in my own personal patch file.

"Make sense", yes. But this is asking to make one that doesn't. There's no logic in breaking down one singular large gear into smaller gears. If this is what you're asking us to do, then it's not a bug.

That certainly wasn't what I was asking. It's no big deal, buddy, I'm just looking at it in a different way. More like recycling that gear by cleaning it up and actually using as a single gear, not breaking it down. Just leave it as is, it's a non-issue.
