Issue #33970: Chicken's Nests have black twigs appear around them after harvesting the egg
Skyrim AE version 1.6.1170.0. With no mods enabled, the chicken nests appear fine both unharvested and harvested. With latest USSEP version 4.3.1 and nothing else installed, harvesting the egg from the nest causes black twigs to appear around the rim. One can be found at Chillfurrow Farm (coc ChillfurrowFarmExterior). In the attached zip are before and after harvest screenshots in vanilla and USSEP.

Mesh actually had multiple errors.
incorrect LE -> SE conversion, floating egg, egg is still there post-harvesting, twigs had incorrect normals, twigs wouldn't render properly on both sides...
Fixed meshes attached

Checked the nests at the Battleborn Farm next door, and the egg is mostly sunk into the bottom of the nest. the one at Chilfurrow Farm doesn't have the egg sunk though.

OK, I checked. The egg at battleborn farm isn't sunken, bethesda just placed another haypile mesh that's clipping with the chicken nest mesh. That would be happening regardless.
Are you sure that's it? I checked again without and with the fix, and it looks like the position of the egg is different, not the hay pile?

The egg is also lower at the nest the Chillfurrow Farm, it just doesn't clip because the hay pile there is a bit lower.

Yes, the egg was hovering before, the fixed mesh adjusted the egg so it’s sitting on the actual nest instead of hovering in the air.
I wonder if it was designed by Bethesda expecting a hay pile to be placed under it, for the egg to rest on?

I don’t think all the eggs have hay under them though. Do the fixed meshes make it hard to harvest or is it just visual?
Just checked, the fix doesn’t impact harvesting. I think making it not float is better since not every nest has that sort of clipping hay under it.
And speaking as someone who owns chickens irl, the egg being semi-buried in the hay is very realistic.

I checked around different farms in Skyrim, one nest at Katla's Farm has the egg almost completely buried.
