Issue #34080: Events not appearing on the starmap.

Known issue by Bethesda, slated for update since before Christmas at https://help.bethesda.net/#en/answer/62939.

Events like, "Hostile activity", "Ship", or "Sensor contact" will not appear on the Starmap after changing your ship. This can be by purchasing a new ship, pirating one in space or on a planet, or receiving one from a quest.

Solution is listed as changing back to the Frontier. However, for myself, any system I had newly visted before changing back is then permanently locked to have no events, even if you then switch to the Frontier again.

Essentially, you play the entire game using only the starter ship, or lose all space based events, derelicts, and quests.

That seems odd since I was messing about last night with my outpost network and switched ships 3 times due to random orbital events I came across. Nothing stopped spawning for me. Even sold the 3 ships I captured during those events.

It's very weird, not sure if it's just Xbox. The random encounters are fine, it's just the markers for POIs in space such as sensor contact and hostle action.

On my original save, I only had events in Jemison and Sol. After that, I pirated an Ecliptic ship and never switched back again. No other systems ever had events. Heard about the fix late on, switched back to the Frontier, and all systems were locked without events. Went through Unity, events started again.

I Retested it with the May update. Started a new game, went straight to New Atlantis on the Frontier, events showed in system.

Did local sidequests to get enough money to buy a cheap Rambler and saved before I bought it.

Took the Frontier, jumped to every nearby system - events.
Reloaded, bought the Rambler, jumped to every nearby system, no events.
Reloaded, bought the Rambler, switched back to the Frontier, then back to the Rambler, events.

However, it got weird, as further testing showed that if I cleared a derelict with the Frontier, then destroyed it, the marker would despawn after jumping out and back into system, but not with the Rambler.

If you search Reddit, for events not occurring, there are a few other posts of people with barren galaxies, and Bethesda are aware 'something' is going wrong under the hood, but it's not getting much attention.

You might want to check it again with the June update then. Cause that's what I was messing about with since I had access to the internal beta and I was still seeing the icons regardless. Also my current iteration of the game hasn't been using the Frontier since just after the Lodge because Ecliptic generously handed over one of their big boats :P

Interesring, haven't really had time to get my paws on it yet, but I've done a quick run.

Not in the patch notes, unless 'general stability' is a catch all for 1500 random tweaks now, but preliminary testing shows events are operating normally. I'll test it properly in the next couple of days, but fingers crossed.

Yes, "General stability" is the catch-all for all the things they know got done but they forgot to properly document.
