Issue #34189: Operation Starseed - Everyone's Hostile

at a certain point in this quest, you make a choice on what factions to back up and turn against

after that depending on your choice a firefight against one or two factions start

after, talking to the leader of the faction you decided to back up, he will direct you to talk to a npc to continue the quest - and that's when all hell breaks loose

any remaining survivors will go hostile on you as soon as you talk to the npc, I tried siding with different factions, still the same

and particularly, if you choose to go to war against the renegades faction one the npc's you need to kill spawns inside one of the buildings geometry, had to tcl to get to him

actually sleeping on your ship for 24 hours after everyone goes mad does seem to fix their aggro state, but that shouldn't be happening in the first place

I did some fairly extensive testing and this is what I found to be one of the issues. Leave companion behind on your ship. Say you side with Roosevelt and talk Amanarinas into joining your cause so you only have to take out Genghis. If I run in and ONLY go after Genghis, and become a bullet sponge from his followers, once I take him out, the script seems to immediately join his faction/followers back to global friendly faction and they cease-fire. There is no wait time or cool down so a stray bullet or if you brought companion and they were already engaged, they will all turn hostile. This either needs a cool down to swap friendly faction where you still have time to disengage, or what I think would be best and most consistent is to not add them back to friendly global faction at all and allow player to take the rest of them out. Only other I can think of would be something like how friendly factions in FO4 work where you can, say, shoot Desdemona about 3 times before she agros. All of that seems to be a little more involved and the cleaner way to me would be to remove that portion of the script all together adds them back as there really is no need to have remnants of Genghis faction around since they never agreed to anything in the first place.
