Issue #34594: dunBrokenOarQST: Persisting issue with quest not shutting down

 
There may not be anything further that can be done, but dunBrokenOarQST still doesn't shut down correctly and that results in the marauders' bodies persisting forever. Papyrus shows that MS07 has been shut down in my game, but dunBrokenOarQST is at stage 100 and still running. The SQV console output is the same as in the original ticket (Bug #19140) with the same seven actors being held in aliases. The only thing I can think of is that maybe the two dialogue scenes are somehow preventing the quest from shutting down completely, but I don't understand enough about how this quest works to tell if that's the case or not. Regardless, whatever fix that was done years back in the USKP doesn't seem to have fixed the problem.

Let me know if you end up needing a save to reproduce this.

I think that's what it is, same issue I hit with atobas. There's a bizarre engine bug with Scenes where packages where NPCs have to move to a marker never end because the package will never terminate if it's the final action in the scene. The workaround is just to add a 0.1 or 0.2 second timer as a final action after the package so the package has time to shut down.
(The engine bug itself has been reported to bethesda)

Yeah, I was afraid it was an engine bug. That's good there's a workaround, though. It's possible the ticket I filed regarding the FreeformOldHroldanB quest not shutting down is caused by the same underlying issue. It's too bad Bethesda hasn't fixed this. After this many years there's a good chance that they never will.
