Issue #35830: Looping audio bug (Protectron / Power Armor / NPC sounds) that attaches to player/npc

This bug has been around in Fallout 4 for a long time and still has no real fix. Certain sounds (like Protectron voice lines, the “sewing machine” noise, power armor or generator hums) can get stuck in a loop. The loop sometimes attaches to the player, sometimes to an NPC/companion.

In my case, I was fighting a Protectron. After it died, one of its audio snippets transferred to my character and just kept playing forever. Commands like fks, disable/enable, or fast traveling only work temporarily – the bug always comes back.

People have been reporting this for years:

Would be great if this could finally get patched, since it kills immersion and is super annoying. Thanks a lot
